This phenomenon is reflected in the comedy show Lapor Pak!, which features spontaneous interactions between the cast and guest stars, including the comedy group Agak Laen. This study aims to describe the humor strategies, forms of sarcasm, and Gen Z language usage in Lapor Pak! based on a pragmatic analysis. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach. The data consists of utterances by the cast and Agak Laen guest stars, obtained from Lapor Pak! episodes on the Trans7 YouTube channel. Data was collected through observation and note-taking, then analyzed using pragmatic methods by identifying the context of speech, implicatures, violations of the principle of cooperation, and the forms of popular language that emerged. The results show that humor strategies are constructed through wordplay, roasting, irony, hyperbole, and violations of conversational maxims, which produce comedic effects. Sarcasm manifests as direct jabs, verbal taunts, and social criticism, serving to reinforce humor while shaping the dynamics of interaction among speakers. Furthermore, Gen Z language use is characterized by the utilization of digital slang, code-mixing, popular abbreviations, and contextual expressions that represent the communication culture of the younger generation. These findings indicate that the pragmatic strategies in Lapor Pak! not only play a role in creating humorous effects but also reflect the adaptation of language to contemporary digital culture and strengthen the communicative rapport between speakers and the audience.

Keywords: Gen Z language, humor strategies, Lapor Pak!, pragmatics, sarcasm.
2026-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Salaka : Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Indonesiahttps://salaka-fisib.unpak.ac.id/index.php/salaka/article/view/62Community Perceptions of the Ruwatan Rambut Gimbal Tradition in the Dieng Highlands, Wonosobo Regency2026-06-30T04:34:59+00:00Adyesta Nareswari[email protected]
The tradition of ruwatan for children with naturally curly hair is a cultural heritage of the Dieng community that is still preserved as part of their belief system and local cultural identity. This tradition is associated with children who have naturally curly hair and are believed to be connected to the ancestors of Dieng. This study aims to analyze the community’s interpretation of the “ruwatan rambut gimbal” tradition, their views on children with curly hair, the values embedded in the tradition, and the urgency of its preservation. The study employs a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature review, and were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the community interprets the “ruwatan rambut gimbal” as a cultural heritage passed down through generations and as a symbol of respect for their ancestors. This tradition embodies cultural, spiritual, and social values, as well as a sense of community and mutual cooperation, which strengthen social cohesion within the Dieng community. Furthermore, preserving this tradition is considered important not only for maintaining local cultural identity but also as a cultural asset that contributes to the development of tourism based on local wisdom. These findings confirm that the “ruwatan rambut gimbal” tradition serves cultural, social, and symbolic functions that remain relevant in the lives of the Dieng community amid the dynamics of social change.

Keywords: cultural identity, cultural preservation, local wisdom, the Dieng community, the “ruwatan rambut gimbal” ritual.
2026-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Salaka : Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Indonesiahttps://salaka-fisib.unpak.ac.id/index.php/salaka/article/view/60Dependence on the Use of ChatGPT and Its Impact on Statistics Students' Linguistic Literacy in Compiling Data Analysis Reports2026-06-17T14:55:33+00:00Menggie Orlanda Br Simarmata[email protected]Nazla Dia Maharani[email protected]Riris Apriani Simarmata[email protected]Wilda Rahmadani[email protected]Widi Aulia[email protected]Muhammad Fazra[email protected]Hendra Kurnia Pulungan[email protected]
The rapid development of generative artificial intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, has significantly influenced higher education, especially in student academic writing activities. However, research specifically examining the relationship between ChatGPT dependency and student language literacy in preparing data analysis reports remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between dependency on ChatGPT usage and the language literacy of Statistics students in preparing data analysis reports. A quantitative approach with a survey strategy was employed. The population consisted of 265 active Statistics students at Universitas Negeri Medan from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts, with 66 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a digital questionnaire via Google Forms, measuring ChatGPT dependency (7 items) and language literacy (6 items) on a 4-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistical analysis and Pearson correlation tests were conducted using RStudio. The results showed that ChatGPT dependency was in the Agree category (mean = 2.70), with students demonstrating selective use by disagreeing with directly copying AI output (1.91). Language literacy was also in the Agree category (mean = 2.98), although confidence in independent writing remained low (2.62). The Pearson correlation test revealed no significant relationship between ChatGPT dependency and language literacy (r = -0.002; p = 0.9903 > 0.05). The study concludes that AI dependency does not inherently weaken language literacy, and educational efforts should focus on critical AI usage rather than prohibition.

Keywords: ChatGPT dependency, language literacy, generative artificial intelligence, academic writing, Statistics students.
2026-06-17T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026
